Anxiety
“You wouldn’t worry so much about what others think of you if you realized how seldom they do”
- Eleanor Roosevelt
Do you worry a lot, feel a constant sense of dread and avoid situations?
Anxiety is a mental and physical reaction to perceived threats. Often anxiety can be useful. It protects us from danger and grabs our attention to face problems. When anxiety is severe or overwhelming, it can be harmful.
The symptoms of anxiety:

Sleep problems
Increased heart rate
Upset stomach
Muscle tension

Common Types of Anxiety
Generalized Anxiety: When worry becomes overwhelming in several areas of your life.
Job responsibilities, health, finances or even minor concerns.
Phobias: This is a more specific type of anxiety. It is a very intense fear around a situation or object. It is out of proportion with the actual threat.
Panic: A debilitating response when a person experiences a panic attack. This can cause physical symptoms with an overall feeling of dread.
